Patrick O’Rourke became interested in video games, technology and writing at a very young age while scouring the pages of magazines like Nintendo Power and Electronic Gaming Monthly.
Following approximately working for three years as Postmedia's national Technology editor, he took on a new role at the National Post/Financial Post, as a web producer, in charge of moving evening copy from the paper to the internet. During his time at the National Post and Postmedia he reported original content related to gaming, internet trends, cord cutting, file-sharing and product reviews, as well as general news.
He's interviewed a variety of notable video game developers, reviewed hundreds of games and has covered the PlayStation 4's reveal event, GDC, E3, Gamescom, The Game Awards, The Canadian Video Game Awards, and many other local Toronto technology related events, all on-location. He also wrote a weekly video game column called Press Start for Postmedia.
He has freelanced technology and gaming related articles for MobileSyrup, The Canadian Video Game Awards, National Post, Financial Post Tech Desk, Post Arcade, Nerdy Stuff, Bitmob (now Gamesbeat), Techvibes, and a variety of other websites.
Patrick is currently employed as a staff writer at MobileSyrup where he covers mobile gaming and technology.
