Patrick O’Rourke became interested in video games, technology and writing at a very young age while scouring the pages of magazines like Nintendo Power and Electronic Gaming Monthly.
Currently, he's employed at Postmedia as Canada.com's technology editor. He covers internet trends, cord cutting, gaming and Canadian start-up companies.
He's interviewed a variety of video game developers, reviewed countless games and has covered the PlayStation 4's reveal event, GDC, E3, the Game Awards, the Canadian Video Game Awards and many other local Toronto technology related events. He also writes a weekly video game-related column called Press Start for Canada.com and contributes frequently to the National Post's Post Arcade video game section.
As a Ryerson University graduate, he completed an internship as an editor at Postmedia's Canada.com, honing his skills as a writer. He also worked for Postmedia as a social media coordinator and managed Decision Canada's various social media accounts.
Patrick also founded GameJudgment.com, a now discontinued opinion-based gaming website and acted as the site's Editor-In-Chief for over three years. He lead a small but dedicated staff of similarly minded game enthusiasts and brought the site's reach to 5000+ unique views a week.
He has also freelanced technology and gaming related articles for Bitmob, Techvibes and other technology-focused websites in the past.
